Pack your microcapillary columns
The Pressure Cell has been used safely for over 10 years in academic laboratories. Brechbühler, Inc. has commercialized this device since the end of 1998.
For use in Proteomic research. Save hundreds of dollars by packing 50, 75,100 or even 200 um i.d. capillary columns with your favorite reversed phase packing material.
Can be used directly on-line with HPLC-ESI-MS or off-line to fractionate. In addition to packing columns use the pressure cell to cleanup samples by loading a sample from the cell, washing and then eluting
The main application of the Helium Pressure Cell is the packing of your own micro-capillary columns. The device can also be used for direct infusion to a micro ESI sprayer, step gradient, non linear gradients and off-line low pressure affinity chromatography.
It is also useful as an injector for micro capillary columns where the standard syringe injector are inconvenient. The advantage over a standard injector is that the sample never touches any metallic surfaces which can result in losses of valuable phosphopeptides and goes right from the vial in which it was prepared to the column for separation hence avoiding sample loss from transfer.
This device has many uses around the laboratory and is easy to set up and use. It requires a high pressure regulator, some standard fittings and helium tank for use.
