Odor search

Identify odor active compounds

Odor search Principle

Odor search helps predict the odor active compound present in a GC/MS run.

Odor search is the link between your GC/MS and the odor activity of your compound. While GC/MS provides identification of peaks there is no link between compounds and odor activity.
Odor search is the link.
Odor search reads the NIST results and compare the compounds to a database of odor active compounds. It list any peaks that is compound that is known to be odor active.

Xcalibur automated processing perform the peak identification via a library search. The results are read by Odor search and compared to an odor active compound library. Any peak matching an odor active compound is listed. Details from the GC/MS run, NIST (or other) library, and odor compound library are displayed.

Compare chromatograms

Odor search lets you store chromatograms of known products. Any GC/MS analysis can be compared to the database of chromatograms, and any difference are easily identified.

Other features

  • Import your own odor active compound library
  • Import a complete or partial GC/MS analysis
  • Launch automatically from Xcalibur processing setup
