Your personal assistant for GC-O experiment

Nose to Text is a voice regonition software dedicated to GC-O. Based on leading voice recognition software, it has been designed to make your GC-O more productive and allow you to concentrate on the sniffing not on writing down your impressions. As the compounds elute from the gas chromatograph, the user describes the flavor into a headset microphone. The software inputs time stamps next to the comments dictated.
At the end of the run, the comments can be merged to the GC report from ThermoFinnigan’s Chrom-Card or from the Agilent’s Chemstation or searched against an odor library.
The software responds to voice command. It will initiate the run, start the recognition process upon injection and stop the run at your command.

Nose to Text 2 has been enhanced with the following features:

New odor library

The odor library management and data showing has been imporved.
- It is now easier to import
- There is no longer a limitation on the number of custom fields
- The addition of compounds to an existing library is easier.
- The display of the results is cleaner, easier to read
- Printing of results is improved

Retention indices

Addition of Retention indices in the data (Require odor library)
- User enter the data for the Kovats (hydrocarbons) or Ester "calibration" run i.e. number of carbon, retention time and retention indices, column used, Isothermal or temperature programmed
- Using this data, Nose to Text calculates the retention index for each of the recognized text.
- The library search can be performed using the retention indices directly from the main window

Timing function

Some of the compound can be harmful to the panelist. To prevent sniffing harmful compounds, we've implemented a timing function. It lets you set the time to sniff or pause. At each event the software plays a sound (On or Off) and shows the main window either white (Sniffing on) or red (Sniffing off).. This lets you know when to stop sniffing

Data merging

The merging of GC-O data with GC report is clearer and incorporated in Nose to Text. This allows you to save all the data within a single folder and easily recall them

Full integration of the variosplit

The Variosplit control is integrated in Nose to Text. When all the eluent is diverted away form the sniffer, Nose to Tex is automatically paused. The Variosplit can be programmed to change the ratios to the detectors throughout the run or can be manually changed at the click of a button.
